For a stunning view of a rapidly disappearing Western frontier, visit the Sid Richardson Museum.  The current exhibition, Legacy, presents themes that occupied Charles M. Russell, Frederic Remington and their contemporaries throughout their careers – interaction among diverse peoples, featuring images of cowboys, soldiers, explorers and Indigenous Americans.  Legacy features 43 dynamic paintings along with bronze sculptures by the preeminent visual storytellers of the 19th century American West. Learn fun and educational information about the artworks via Musing, a free iPhone application.  The museum is free and wheelchair-accessible, and docent tours are offered on Tuesdays and Saturdays at 2 pm.  It also features one of the best Museum Stores around, with unique Western items, prints, bronzes, jewelry, books, children’s toys, prints on canvas both framed and unframed, and works by local artisans.
